After a successful series and a film about a grumpy samurai Kyutaro and his cat companion, the adventure continues. This time Kyutaro and his cat travel to the island Shikoku, where Kyutaro is supposed to work as a sword instructor. When ronin Kyutaro's mother-in-law tells him about a job opening in Tosa, he and his cat Tamanojo take ship -- and wind up as island castaways.
