In 1930s Hangzhou, a banished monk encounters wise masters who impart fantastic kung fu techniques, preparing him for a fight with evil incarnate. A monk leaves his monastery and ventures out into the real world for the first time in his life, and ends up in an adventure with a kung-fu master who is guarding a special artifact.
